RECORD STORE DAY 2026 - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
Share
Hello everyone! Record Store Day 2026 is almost here. We will be conducting the day the same way that we have with past events - please read below. In the past, we've gotten compliments on how smooth everything has been run, and we're hoping that this event goes just as well!
We will be opening at 8AM on Saturday, April 18. If you line up before our opening time, we ask that you please respect both our neighbors in the plaza and other customers. Please form a line to the LEFT of our door (towards the salon). We hope to make it through most of the line by the time the other businesses open, but if we don't, please keep the areas around their doors clear. We're asking to form the line this way for two reasons. In the past, we didn't specify how the line should form, and it became chaotic, wrapping around into the parking lot. Also, forming the line to the left will give more standing room for a single-file line (forming to the right would wrap around the building into a roadway - forming to the left should be safer/better).
Here is the run-down for our organizational process for the event.
#1 - NO HOLDS. Look, we want to fulfill every request for everyone. We would love to do that. However, one of the main RSD stipulations is that we cannot hold or pre-order RSD product. This means that when we open, it will be first come, first served. If you *need* something on the list, our recommendation is to arrive early and wait in an orderly queue until we open. If you cannot make it there at open, feel free to check in with us later in the day to see if we still have the release you are looking for. Additionally, we will make any leftover stock available on our website on the morning of Sunday, April 19 at 8am. We do offer free in-store pickup on the website, so if you can't make it in on Saturday, check the website in the morning to see if we still have what you're looking for. Many titles go FAST in the morning, so the closer to 8am you can check, the better!
#2 - ONE COPY PER TITLE PER CUSTOMER. This is how this will work: If there's a line when we open, everyone in line will be limited to one copy per title per person. If it is a title that we have plenty of stock of, and you'd like to rejoin the line and purchase a second copy, we will allow that, but no more than two. If there's no line to rejoin by the time you get to the counter, then that's fine too, and we will sell an additional copy. We are just going to make sure that everyone who is waiting in line in the morning has a shot to get the releases they want. This is the best way we can discourage people purchasing with the intent of flipping online, while still letting people grab an extra copy for friends/family or collecting. Please understand that we are not guaranteeing that we will allow anyone to buy a second copy of any title - it will 100% depend on the circumstances that day. Additionally, please don't ruin this rule - we are only doing it this way so people can help out a friend or family member who couldn't make it, etc. If we find out that people are buying extra copies to resell, we will discontinue this policy going forward and put a hard limit of one copy per person going forward. This has never been a problem in the past, so please let's not make it one.
#3 - PULL SHEETS. We would *love it* if you hang around and browse the store, but we understand some people are only coming in for the RSD titles. So, approximately 30 minutes before we open, a staff member will come outside and start filling out pull sheets with each person's requested titles. This helps expedite the process - we will NOT have a browsable section for Record Store Day titles. Everything will be held behind the counter. When you get to the counter, give us your name and number in line, and we will check you out. Then you can feel free to hang out and browse, or head out. This process also helps us let people know if we are going to run out of a title right away, so we can let the rest of the line know. This system has worked very well for us in the past!
If you're worried about our stock levels on a certain title, please feel free to reach out. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you so much for your continued business, and we're looking forward to Record Store Day 2026!
See you soon!!
